RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE - HPA RAFFLES OFF PLAYHOUSE TO RAISE MONEY

Recently, Hamish had a friend stay at Ronald McDonald house. Ronald McDonald House provides a place to stay for family’s whose children are staying at hospital, usually for treatment of serious illnesses.

The organisation is only 20% funded by McDonalds, the remainder comes from public donations etc.  So Hamish had an idea…

My friend reached out and told me of a situation where the washing machines and driers in place at the facility are not up to scratch and it can take quite a few hours to get a load of washing done, albeit not to the best standard. I’ve since had this story confirmed with Ronald McDonald house directly.

HPA have decided that isn’t good enough for families having to deal with a struggle of a sick child already, so we decided to build a small playhouse to raffle off. We are going to use the funds generated to purchase a new, efficient washer and dryer unit for Ronald McDonald House.

Below is the work in progress photo of the Playhouse, soon to be painted in some lovely colours the residents will recognise from their Villas. There is a nice verandah to relax on, a chalkboard station, and space to put in some bunkbeds inside!

The team have set up a raffle sheet, at $20 per square on the sheets and have asked the village to pass  the sheet on to the residents if possible; I’m sure some of them would love the chance to win a playhouse for their grandkids? We will make sure the playhouse gets to its intended destination free of charge.

Awesome work from Hamish and the team – we hope you raise lots of money for such a great cause.
