Simon Kelsall

Simon’s journey in the world of architecture began with a degree from Auckland University, which was further enriched by his formative years at Nilsson Architects in London. During this time, he had the privilege of contributing to some stunning residential projects, including Earls Terrace and The Bromptons.

Upon his return to New Zealand, a role at ASC allowed him to showcase a versatile approach, leaving a lasting impact on various projects spanning education, hospitality, and light industry.

Simon’s path then led him to Jasmax, where he lent his skills to the design team behind the AUT Business Building and took on the role of Project Architect for the transformative Westlake Boys High Auditorium, Administration, and Student Services Buildings.

In 2006, he joined HPA, embarking on a fulfilling 17-year journey. During his tenure, he channelled his architectural acumen into the creation of thriving communities, including Beetham Village, McKenzie Village, Lochlea Lifestyle Village, Golden View Village, Longridge Country Estate, Amberley Country Estate and Aurum on Clutha.

Beyond Simon’s professional endeavours, he proudly represents New Zealand in powerlifting, having competed at the international level in both 2016 and 2022.

Simon is a Director of HPA and Technical Solutions.
