Sonal has been part of the HPA finance team since 2019. His main responsibilities include financial modelling, budgeting, managing insurance and looking after clients’ statutory and reporting requirements.
He has more than 23 years of experience in the finance and accounting professions in Sri Lanka and Australia. His background includes financial planning, business restructuring, financial advisory, business advisory, fund raising, financial management, financial reporting and treasury management.
Prior to joining HPA, Sonal worked as a Director of Finance at Floreat Homes (Pvt) Ltd (Property Development/Construction/Consultancy) and APS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (MEP Construction), Group Financial Controller (Head of Finance) at WDR Group (7 Companies), Finance Manager at Bartleet Transcapital Ltd, Strategic Insurance Brokers Ltd and Helios Development, Financial Accountant at Superpartners, Group Accountant at Swiss Lloyds and Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Sonal is a fellow member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Australia and holds a MBA, MPAcc, FABE (UK) and is a finalist of CIMA (UK). He is a Director of Lifecare Construction, Agro Micro Finance Guarantee Ltd and Agro Micro Investments Ltd.
In his spare time, he likes cooking, hiking and exploring wildlife.
